Ways to record a document

There are three ways to record a document with the Allen County Recorder's Office:

By coming to our office in person, located in downtown Fort Wayne.

2

By submitting all documents and requirements by mail.

3

By using a third-party E-Recording vendor.

1 | In-Person Instructions:

One option for recording with us is by bringing your document(s) down to our office in room 100 in the Rousseau Centre. We accept payment via cash, checks (with the exception of counter checks), and card. We are open from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. Please note that if the document is transferring property, it will also have to be seen and stamped by the offices of the Allen County Assessor and Auditor, you can find more information on this process below.

2 | Mail Instructions:

Another option for recording a document with us is to mail in your document(s) along with payment. Our mailing address is: 1 East Main Street Room 100 Fort Wayne, IN 46802. Please note that if the document is transferring property, it will also have to be seen and stamped by the offices of the Allen County Assessor and Auditor, you can fine more information on this process below.
