Allen County Recorder’s Office Debuts Revamped Web Site

May 27, 2011

In a continuing effort to make its services more accessible via the Internet, the Allen County Recorder’s Office recently overhauled and re-launched its web site.

(May 27, 2011) – In a continuing effort to make its services more accessible via the Internet, the Allen County Recorder’s Office recently overhauled and re-launched its web site.

The site (www.allencountyrecorder.us), offers links to downloadable forms, news, contact information and a searchable question-and-answer section, as well as extensive information on Allen County’s online recording and document retrieval services.  The site also features a new interactive, shopping-cart based service that allows customers to determine recording fees in advance.

“Fees can be difficult to calculate and all too often, a small shortfall makes it necessary to reject a document,” said Allen County Recorder John McGauley.  “Rejections for fee shortages are inconvenient for our customers and slow down the recording process.  An online fee calculator takes a lot of the uncertainty out of this step in doing business with the Recorder’s Office.”

The new web site can be edited through a web browser, making it simpler and faster to update.  More streamlined design and pull-down menus make it simpler to find the specific information a user is looking for.  The site, built by Aptera Software of Fort Wayne, replaces one built in-house.

In addition to being available directly at www.allencountyrecorder.us, the revamped Recorder’s Office web site is also available through the Allen County Government home page, by following the Government menu to the Tax/Property/Finance tab.

The new web site was paid for through fees collected by the Recorder’s Office.
