AN IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT OUR UPCOMING MOVE:
June 1, 2009
Dear Valued
Customer:
On
Friday,
June 12,
the Allen County Recorder’s Office will move to a new location in
Room 100 of the City-County Building. This new location is on the
first floor of the City-County Building, in a space formerly
occupied by the Allen County Treasurer’s Office.
This move is
being made at the behest of the Allen County Commissioners in order
to make possible a consolidation of county and township assessing
functions in one location.
Unfortunately,
this move is going to cause recorder’s office customers a limited
degree of disruption and inconvenience, hopefully limited primarily
to the day of our actual move. We intend to reopen for normal
business on
Monday,
June 15.
Here is how we
believe the transition will impact customers:
-
Recording
will be
OFFLINE
until late morning on June 12. Our top priority will be the
re-establishment of recording functions, which will likely take
several hours. It is possible, albeit highly unlikely, that
recording will be offline for the entire day.
-
It will be
very difficult for searching to occur on June 12. Onsite
computerized searching will be
UNAVAILABLE
until late in the day at the earliest. It will also be
difficult to retrieve and search from books while people and
equipment are being relocated on June 12. We encourage
searchers to take care of any needs they may have prior to the
close of business on June 11 or wait until Monday, June 15.
Online searching through Laredo or Tapestry will
NOT
be affected by our move.
-
As a result
of the need to move computers, printers, copiers and microfilm
readers, it will be difficult or impossible to get copies on
Friday, June 12.
-
Phone
service will be disrupted for a short time as well. Relocation
of phone equipment will take place on Thursday and Friday, June
11 and 12. There will be brief periods during which our main
number (449-7165) may ring directly into voice mail.
We know that
your searching and recording needs are very important and we will
make sure that any disruption is as brief as possible. If you have
any questions or know of any needs you may have that we might be
able to help fill during this transition, please contact me at
449-7391 (Office), 433-7584 (Cell) or by e-mail at
john.mcgauley@allencounty.us.
Sincerely,
John McGauley
